CCA Representatives Meet in Knoxville

Holy Cross Anglican Church played host the representatives of Common Cause Appalachia (CCA) on Saturday, July 22, 2006. The first ever meeting of CCA was held at the church beginning at 11:00 AM EDT. Attending were representatives from 7 CCA churches from Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee. The gathering began with Morning Prayer led by Father Ralph Waterhouse of Holy Cross Church. A wonderful lunch was prepared by Suzy Cantey. The luncheon provided time for the group time to relax and get to know each other better. Following lunch a business meeting was held.

At the conclusion of the business meeting the group agreed to pursue several initiatives. They included joint youth activities for CCA members; CCA Disaster/Crises relief; and continued referrals and communication with CCA members. David Jones was elected as the permanent webmaster for the CCA web site. No CCA officers were elected. Instead members agreed that rotating moderator would be the best way to proceed for the moment.
The group agreed to meet on a regular basis which will most likely be quarterly. The next meeting will include Holy Communion. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 1:45 PM.
